Riverdale Bookshop Scenes  by Gerald King

I enjoy wandering over the Riverdale Bookshop on Saturday Nights for the live music. I spend a lot of time sketching the musicians as they belt out folk and country tunes. I had some photos of the scene and painted everything as if it were early 1800s.  I tried to replicate candlelight rather than electric light. It was fun to walk back to a time when such an event would be a main event in the community. No TV or cell phones to distract us from  simple enjoyment.
